Our practice is committed to providing an environment where kids feel comfortable and excited about visiting our office. We understand that you and your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist.
Parents are always welcome to accompany their child during dental visits, especially during the initial examination. During future appointments, we suggest you allow your child to accompany our staff through the dental experience. Our purpose is to gain your child’s confidence and overcome any fears they may have. However, if you choose, you are more than welcome to accompany your child to the treatment room. For the safety and privacy of all patients, children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult.
Here’s what you can expect on your first visit:
- Meet your doctor
- A cleaning
- A comprehensive examination
- Treatment plan for any issues that need addressing
- X-rays if needed
- Fluoride treatment
- Diet & oral hygiene education
There’s no need to over-prepare your child for their first visit. We encourage parents to stay positive and stress-free. Children can sense anxiety, so it’s important not to use words such as hurt, shot, drill or needle to prevent your child from fearing their visit. Just tell them they’re getting a cleaning and will have a beautiful smile once we’re done! After all, it’s the truth!
